Terms of Service

Effective October 10, 2026. By using Open Meny or openmeny.com, you agree to these terms.

App license

Subject to these terms, openmeny.com grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Open Meny on compatible Apple devices that you own or control. This license is for lawful use only and does not transfer ownership or intellectual-property rights in Open Meny.

Except where applicable law clearly permits it, you may not copy, modify, decompile, reverse engineer, sell, rent, sublicense, or otherwise attempt to extract the source code or functionality of the app.

Your menu content

You are responsible for content you create, import, display, or share in Open Meny, including menu text, prices, images, trademarks, product descriptions, and other material. You must have the necessary rights and ensure that the content is accurate, lawful, and does not infringe another person's rights.

The website menu builder is an anonymous text-only preparation tool, not a customer-facing menu service. Drafts are lost when the page is refreshed or closed. Download a menu file to keep your work. Images must be added in the app.

Generating a QR code uploads a temporary copy and authorizes openmeny.com and its infrastructure provider to process, store and deliver that copy solely for transfer and service security. Anyone holding the link may download it for 24 hours. You retain your content rights. Links cannot be edited and do not automatically synchronize later browser changes.

Temporary transfers are subject to size, frequency and capacity limits and may be restricted or unavailable. Expired links stop working; successful imports remain local to your device. Keep your own downloaded copy. Do not upload sensitive data, unlawful content or malicious payloads, impersonate official menu providers, scrape private transfers or abuse the service. We may block abusive requests.

Do not use Open Meny or its temporary-transfer service to promote tobacco or vaping consumption, facilitate tobacco sales, distribute unlawful drug promotions, sexual exploitation, threats or harassment, or share content without the necessary rights. A menu link is not permission to publish prohibited content. Temporary uploads are subject to basic automated checks and reports; these checks do not certify the legality of any menu.

Report a hosted menu link through our menu-link reporting instructions. We review reports and may revoke a hosted transfer or restrict abusive requests. Revocation stops future downloads from openmeny.com; it does not erase files already downloaded or menus imported to other devices. We do not control third-party sources.

Imports and external sources

Open Meny may let you choose to import content from a file, HTTPS link, or QR code. You decide whether to trust the source. openmeny.com does not operate third-party menu sources, does not review them, and is not responsible for their availability, accuracy, security, or legality.

“Official” means a menu package authenticated with Open Meny's publisher signing key, not an endorsement or certification by Apple. The signature verifies the publisher and integrity of the package; it is not a guarantee of product quality or legal compliance. Ordinary user-created menu files are unsigned and editable. Unsigned files cannot claim official record identities. Official content remains protected after download and can be hidden and reordered, but not deleted through menu controls.

Disclaimers and limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Open Meny and openmeny.com are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, continuous availability, or error-free operation.

You should keep your own copies of important menu material and manage device backups. openmeny.com is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, punitive, or consequential losses arising from lost devices, software updates, import sources, content errors, interruptions, or inability to access local data. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty exclusions or liability limitations, so these limitations may not fully apply to you.

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. To the extent permitted by applicable law, any dispute arising out of or related to these terms, Open Meny, or openmeny.com will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state or federal courts located in Los Angeles County, California, United States.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms when reasonably necessary. The updated version will appear on this page with a new effective date. Continuing to use Open Meny or the website after an update means you accept the updated terms.

Apple distribution: If Open Meny is made available through the App Store, applicable Apple terms may also apply. Apple is not the operator of this website or of menu content under these terms.
